Taiwo Okeowo holds dual offices as the Deputy Managing Director of FBNQuest Merchant Bank Limited, and as the Chairman of FBNQuest Securities Limited, and is currently in charge of the firm’s Investment Banking division. Previously, he was primarily responsible for FBN Capital’s consulting division, which handled Debt & Equity Capital Markets, Project & Structured Finance, the Financial Advisory practice, and the Agency and Trust Services Group.
A seasoned professional with over 26 years of experience in investment banking, Taiwo joined FBN Capital in 2006 from First Bank of Nigeria Plc, where he was Head of the Corporate Finance Group. His stewardship tenure at FBN Capital led the investment banking teams to raise over $8 billion in trades which earned the firm first-place rank on Nigeria’s transaction league tables in the equity capital market between 2007 and 2008, and the debt capital market from 2009 to 2011. He was also a founding senior executive of Investment Banking & Trust Company Ltd (now Stanbic IBTC), and he has extensive expertise in project finance, mergers and acquisitions, consolidation, and securities underwriting.
Taiwo is a Sloan Fellow with an MSc in Management from London Business School, a CFA Charterholder, and a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Chartered Accountants. He is also a director of MainOne Cable Company Ltd and former Chairman of the Fixed Income Subcommittee of the Capital Market Committee.
