The Nigerian equities market consolidated on recent gains as the NSE All-Share Index appreciated by 0.62% to close today’s session at 22,868.40 points. Investors’ positive response to the earnings publication of communications heavyweight MTNN (+2.38%) coupled with gains recorded in ARDOVA(+9.95%), UACN (+9.68%), FBNH (+3.37%), Wapco (+2.68%), UBA (+1.69%), Access (+1.60%) and Guaranty (+0.48%) which all supported the broad market indicator to finish in the green region. However, Zenithbank (-1.01%),Sterlnbank (-1.54%) and Wemabank (-1.64%) were notable among the laggards in today’s session.
Market turnover was N2.54bn ($6.5mln), though boosted by mixed interest trades in Guaranty, Dangcem and Zenithbank. The NSEASI ytd return moderated to -14.80%. We expect the market to witness the same sentiment in the next session.
