The Nigerian equities market witnessed a breather at the end of today’s trading session as the NSEASI (+0.17%) recorded its first gain this week. The broad equities benchmark indicator finished stronger due to gains recorded in Buacement (+3.00%), UBN (+1.43%),Afriprud (+2.54%) and Ucap (+9.94%) at the close of the session. Though market breadth turned positive, sell pressure dragged Guaranty (1.41%) and Zenithbank (-0.51%) into the red region.
Market turnover improved to N3.58bn ($9.81 mln), buoyed by mixed interest in Guaranty, Zenithbank and UBA. The NSEASI ytd return tapered to +2.71%. In absence of any catalyst, we expect the market to maintain this trading pattern in the next session.
