Trading activities on the Nigerian equities market closed on a positive note as the NGXASI appreciated by +75bps at the close of today’. The performance of the broad index was supported by upward of movement in equities heavy weight Dangcem (+2.38%), as well as gains recorded in NB (+2.74%), Jberger (+2.62%) Glaxosmith (+0.84%), Wapco (+0.43%) and GTCO (+0.41%). On the contrary, Dangsugar (-5.09%), Afriprud (-4.76%), UBN (-4.62%), Flourmill (-1.45%), Vitafoam (-1.32%), Accesscorp (-0.97%) and Zenithbank (-0.40%) all declined.
Turnover was N4.02b ($9.69m) supported by fragmented trades Zenithbank ,Mtnn and GTCO. The YTD return on the NGX index improved to +11.34%. We expect the same trading pattern in the coming session.
