Positive movement in large cap stocks; Dangcem (+3.64%), Nestle (+1.85%) and Seplat (+0.02%) buoyed the NSEASI to close higher by +0.63% in the day. In addition, NB (+1.01%), Afriprud (+3.48%), Access (+0.65%), Guinness (+0.43%), and Oando (+4.83%) all advanced. These masked weakness in Conoil (-9.79%), Intbrew (-9.00%), Berger (-7.63%), UBA (-2.78%), Fbnh (-2.76%),Dangsugar (-1.37%) and Guaranty (-0.97%) among others.
Market turnover was N4.91bln ($12.86mln) though boosted by mixed interest in trades in Guaranty, Nestle, UBA, and domestic related cross trade in Dangcem. Year to date performance moderated to -3.33%. We expect the market to maintain a similar trading pattern in the coming session.
