Today’s trading activities on the Nigerian equities market closed on negative note, as the NGXASI retreated by -2bps to 46,766.16 in the day. Weakness in Oando (-2.89%), Nascon (-2.46%), NGXGROUP (-2.30%), GTCO (-1.12%), NB (-1.11%), Custodian (-0.76%) and Zenithbank (-0.44%) dragged the broad index southwards. Nevertheless, upticks in the likes of Seplat (+1.05%), Glaxosmith (+2.63%), UBA (+1.97%), FCMB (+0.94%) and Fidelitybk (+0.87%) salvaged some valuable points in the day.
Turnover was N2.43b ($5.80m) supported by fragmented trades in MTNN and GTCO. The YTD return on the NGX index narrowed to +9.48%. We expect the same trading pattern in the coming session .
