The All Share Index appreciated by +0.83% to settle at 30,733.47 points in the day. Notable profit taking in the selected banking stocks were offset by positive movement in the Industrial goods space. Gains recorded in cement manufacture Dangcem (+5.62%), as well as positive movement in CAP (+9.58%), Dangsugar (+1.65%), Oando (+7.00%), and PZ (+2.17%) propelled the board index. Also points amassed in UBN (+1.83%), ETI (+ 0.97%), Access (+0.63%) salvaged some value from decline in Guaranty (-1.54%),Stanbic (-1.08%),Fbnh (-0.78%) and Zenithbank (-0.46%). Nevertheless, Guinness (-2.65%), Flourmill (-1.56%), Unilever (-1.44%), and Intbrew (-1.43%) finished lower in the session.
Turnover was N3.89bn ($10.07m), buoyed by mixed interest trade in Guaranty, and Zenithbank . The NSEASI ytd return improved to +14.50%. We expect the market to maintain this trading pattern in the next session.
